The holidays are wonderful, but they are a little stressful to me because I usually get away from my normal routine and my normal eating. At the risk of sounding like Scrooge, I'm glad Christmas is over. I just took down our little tree and it is packed up for another year.
This morning I went to Jazzercise, and I was glad to get in a good workout. I have counted points today after four days of guessing and hoping. That never works for me no matter how many times I try it. This morning the scales showed a gain, but I know that getting away from all the salt and not allowing sugar in my day will solve that problem. We had our cranberry pie on Christmas Eve and we finished it off yesterday afternoon after a walk outside. It was delicious and we will have another one next Christmas if all goes as planned.
We will be heading to Austin tomorrow, and plan to be there on Friday afternoon. There, we will have another Christmas of sorts without all the food. We are taking their gifts to them and they still have ours under the tree.
My daughter wants to go to a Greek restaurant Friday evening and I know I can eat on program there without any problems at all. I'm taking apples and oranges as my snacks on the trip plus some rice cakes. That should do the trick.
When we get back to Mississippi, I need to decide what kind of exercise I'll be doing. There is a Jazzercise studio fairly close to the house, so I may visit them soon.
I need to finished packing so good night to all.
You are not scrooge. I am so glad Christmas is over and am trying to get back into a routine now. I am also going to try and cut out the sugar. I can really feel the difference it makes by having too much of it. Have a good trip!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful time with your family! Safe travels :)
ReplyDeleteI love your title today :). I am done with Christmas too but my family does not want to take the tree and lights down until New Years day which is our tradition so I will abide by that. Have a safe trip, sounds like you have great plans in place to stay OP.
ReplyDeleteYep, I've had enough of it too and I'll be taking my tree down over the weekend. Have a safe and wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteI truly never feel like Christmas is "finished" until my house, my food and my exercise is back to pre-Christmas order, which usually happens some time around New Year. I used to fight it and be upset but now I just try to go with the flow knowing that soon everything will be routine again. Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteI used to worry during the holidays, but not so much now. As long as I get back to my normal soon, I'm okay.
ReplyDeleteWishing you safe travels and a wonderful family visit!
Hope you have a safe trip! My brother and his family and my step-son and his wife live in Austin - once my husband finds work, we hope to visit - although they had cool temps this week - lows in the 30s! Check the weather! :D
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way this year. I took our tree and decorations down the evening of Christmas. I have never done that before but I think I wanted all the tmeptations that are justified with the holiday to be over with as soon as possible. I sent all of our leftover treats to my mom's work.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful visit! So glad that we "met" this year and looking forward to a great 2013.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Caron. Have a safe and blessed trip.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Blessings!!
I have to admit that I was a little bewildered for a day or two with none of my normal foods being served. It actually did not feel that good at all. It was definitely better to just be back to my normal formula. Like you, I temporarily gained water weight for a few days, but now it's gone. Happy New Years to you! Have a great trip!
