Monday was a good day for me all around. I started the morning with 35 minutes of yoga. It is still hard for me to concentrate on the yoga and let other thoughts go by, but I'm working on it.
I walked to the 4:30 Jazzercise class and it was a lot of fun. When I left the house, I had a little over 2000 steps on my pedometer. When I got back home, I had almost 9000. I ended the day at 9243 which is excellent for me. I didn't have to walk back home as my husband got off work at 5:00 and the studio was on his way home.
So I was off to a great start on exercise for the week. Tuesday wasn't good and I ended the day around 3600 steps. So it appears it is feast or famine with my exercise. I only did a ten minute yoga routine yesterday because I knew we had appointments in the afternoon and I had lots to do before that.
This morning I did a 45 minute yoga routine. This one was much more interesting as I got to do a lot of standing poses. Before today, I was doing mostly mat exercises.
This afternoon I am going back to the 4:30 Jazzercise class. They only have it two days a week. I hope to make the Saturday morning class too. We'll see how it goes.
We have been enjoying watermelon for dessert at night. We stopped at a little produce stand on the way back from Hattiesburg on Saturday to get some sweet potatoes. We saw the watermelons and the lady running the stand said they were really good. We decided to take a chance and she was right. We knew for sure that there would be no returning it as it was quite a way from where we live. The only problem is that I freeze from the inside out after eating it. Brrrrrrrrr.

9000 steps is great. Funny thing I was just telling my hubby this morning that maybe I can burn calories today from shivering as the temp this morning felt like -28 deg celsius (-18 deg F)
ReplyDeleteI love standing yoga poses! I used to have a LOT of difficulty stilling my mind while doing yoga. I found that counting while breathing really helped me focus.
ReplyDeleteWhen I step outside, it's difficult for me to imagine fresh watermelon at an outdoor fruit and vegetable stand in January.
ReplyDeleteGreat on the exercise. We actually grow watermelons in our district. Flood levels have peaked and the rain has just about stopped. I should be able to walk outside tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSome exercise is better than no exercise, so give yourself the credit!
ReplyDeleteI might know which produce stand you stopped at! Is it the one with the little restaurant attached, just north of H'burg? Nice people there. (Nice peanut butter balls, too, but don't tell anyone you heard it from me. :) )
This was about 15 miles north of Hattiesburg before Collins my husband said. There wasn't a restaurant though and no peanut butter balls. :)
