Thursday

After getting up way too early yesterday, I went back to bed after my husband went to work and slept three hours. I really needed more sleep but it kind of threw me off for the rest of the day.

I have been doing really well with the yoga until this morning. I was on the next to the last routine for beginners, but this one should have been on the DVD for intermediates. I was unable to do many of the poses and the transitions from one pose to another was way too hard for a novice like me.

I kept trying and at one point I was kind of feeling like a pretzel all twisted around. One thing the instructor said got my attention. She said don't expect to be able to do all the poses right away especially when you are not as flexible as you once were. She also said that it would take time and persistence to perfect those poses. I keep saying to anyone who will listen that it takes consistency to lose weight and maintain it and I believe it will be the same with learning and practicing yoga. I will get better at it.

I went to Jazzercize tonight and it was a good workout and fun as usual. I hope to do one more class this week on Saturday morning.

It's late so off to bed I go.

  1. You will definitely improve the more you practice. Remember to breathe deeply. Often on the exhale you'll find that you can move into the pose a bit deeper.

  3. Going back to bed and getting extra rest is a good thing! I keep meaning to try yoga but just haven't had the chance.
