Another year has zoomed by and I am once again "celebrating" my first night at Weight Watchers eleven years ago today. This morning I weighed in at 128.6, so rounding it up to 129 means I am 49 pounds lighter than my highest weight of 178 and 43 pounds lighter than my first night at WW.
Since I did a "10 Years Ago Today" post last August 1st, I won't bother to do another today. If you are new to my blog, and would like to read it, you can find it here.
We have an extreme heat advisory out for today. It was still 104 degrees at 8:00 p.m. last night. We are looking forward to November and much cooler temperatures.
Yesterday's class at the gym did not go well. I was reminded of my high school days when the kids figured out that a teacher liked to talk more than teach. We started 15 minutes late, then the talk continued throughout the entire class and we stopped early. Maybe I'm being too critical, but I go to get some really good exercise in and also have fun doing it.
I am hopeful that the next class will be better. The teacher is very young and seems to enjoy the banter, but I wish she would wise up and say "We'll talk after class."
Food has been good except we had a minor misstep with the gluten. I baked some chicken and we had a rice mix in the pantry which we bought quite some time ago.
I looked it up online and found two sources that said it was gluten free. The package was not clear, but we decided to cook it anyway and it was very tasty. We put curry powder and other spices on the chicken thinking that was safe. The next day, my daughter said that she was having stomach issues and the little bumps were on her hands again. I blamed the rice (still do), but she was carefully reading the curry powder package and it said that it was made in a facility which also produced wheat products. That went into the trash.
So we will be more careful reading labels. She has definitely made up her mind that she will eat differently to feel better and that is fantastic!
