My husband is flying in tonight and will be here about ten days. He is hoping it will be cooler while he is here. I told him not to hold his breath. It is 104 right now.
When I went to Weight Watchers on Monday evening, lady running the meeting told me that there was a lady who comes to the Tuesday morning meeting that lives here in my town. She offered to give her my telephone number in case she might be interested in car pooling to go to the meetings.
Yesterday the lady called me and we talked for about 25 minutes. She said there used to be a meeting here, but it was poorly attended so they disbanded. She was a delight to talk to and was open to having me ride along to the meetings. She said she did not mind the drive, and I would happily give her gas money, but we didn't discuss that yet. We are going to meet one day after my husband leaves and maybe have lunch somewhere. There aren't a lot of choices here but I'm sure we can find something.
We bought a little package of Pillsbury refrigerated, gluten free pizza dough and it was awful. It didn't cook right or taste good and we couldn't get it out of the pan even though we oiled it. I bent the pizza cutter trying to make it let go of the pan. In the end, we ate the toppings, and threw the pan and cutter away.
I sent Pillsbury an email telling them about our sad experience, but ended by telling them that "On a good note, we really liked the chocolate chip cookie dough which is also gluten free." Yesterday, I got a letter which included two coupons for free items such as the cookie dough and another two $1 off coupons. I thought that was really nice of them.
Happy weekend to all.
