My daughter and I are ridiculously happy that the 99 Cent Only store opened here last week. We have driven the 20 miles to Casa Grande at least once so we could go to the dollar store. Now, we have our own and they are even better because they sell produce and frozen foods.
We decided to skip opening day as they were advertising "99 cent TV's for the first 9 customers." Yep, 40" LED HDTV's for only 99 cents. We joked that they might still be mopping up the blood as we drove there on Friday morning. Seriously, after seeing those stampedes on the day after Thanksgiving when people are trampled and killed, I do not want to put myself in danger.
Anyway, the parking lot was almost full when we ventured over to check it out, but the people were all nice and courteous and buying a LOT of stuff. The two people ahead of us in line spent $60 and $40. We were more restrained and only spent $11.
The weather here is so nice. We have not had a 100 degree day in three weeks and last week we stayed in the 80's. We've pulled out our winter clothes which are still lightweight, but were too much for the summer heat.
I'm still happy that the scale registers below 130 pounds. It's up a pound from yesterday to 129.4 and I'm blaming the sunflower seeds.
I only went to one exercise class last week. This week I'm planning to go to four. I have Silver Sneakers today and Wednesday and I'm hoping to go to two yoga classes this week. I'm already smiling about this. :)
I'm making soup again. Yesterday we enjoyed kale and white bean soup. It was so delicious. I have stuffed pepper soup on the menu for this week and am looking forward to it.
I'm off to get ready for my class.
