I often have the feeling that we weight loss/maintenance/healthy living bloggers are interconnected and I like it.
For instance, in the last week or so I've seen several people blogging about getting back to basics or recalibrating. I do that quite often. I am working at tracking my food better now. It is an easy thing to do, but it is also easy to get lazy and off track and neglect one or more of the key elements that keeps me on the path I've chosen.
I just wrote about being introduced to the Crow pose in yoga and another blogger commented that she was going to work more on that pose. Then, this morning Ellen posted about doing the Crow pose and had a great picture too. Very nice. :)
I suppose it is because we are generally trying to do the same thing. When I go to Weight Watchers meetings, I know that the people in the meetings are trying to accomplish the same things that I am. I may not agree with everything that I hear, but I do know that those people "get me." They understand my struggle with whether or not to have a jar of peanut butter in the house and my excuses as to why I did not exercise more last week.
My first WW leader called the rest of the world outside our little realm "civilians." We all know people who have never had a problem with over eating. It is hard for them to understand us and our struggles with food. Have you ever had anyone say something to you along the lines of "Just don't eat it." I know that sounds so simple to the civilian, but to those of us who really struggle with food, it is not always simple.
Anyway, these are just a few of my thoughts on a Monday evening. I like being in good company with people who understand and who encourage. I also like to be one who encourages.
